A shout out to Dr. Bird and her team at Braces by Bird and Bird Pediatric Dentistry!
This week OraBrite® would like to give a shout out to Dr. Bird and her team at Braces by Bird and Bird Pediatric Dentistry! Dr. Bird is both an orthodontist and a pediatric dentist. This provides familiarity for patients who transition from the pediatric office over to the orthodontic office. By having both practices a parking lot apart, Dr. Bird is able to closely follow her young patient's facial growth and space needed for permanent teeth, guiding them in their growth and development. By doing so, she is able to start orthodontic treatment at an early age if needed. Their mission statement is "Maintain an atmosphere of fun and laughter in our office, and to develop relationships with our patients that are based on trust and understanding. Growing happy healthy smiles, our promise to you!"
Not only are both offices up to date on the latest technologies in each of their state of the art facilities, but they have also found the perfect balance of social media marketing and branding that appeals to their clientele. Braces by Bird and Bird Pediatric Dentistry have found several unique approaches to set them apart from the rest. You'll receive appointment confirmations via email and text as well as a self-check-in system, video games and complimentary beverages in the waiting room.
Social Media:
Bird Pediatric Dentistry and Braces by Bird are using social media the right way. They have a Facebook and Twitter page for both offices, as well as a You Tube channel that features the patient of the month. Yelp offers customer reviews and directions to their two office locations. Each office posts updates and shares pictures throughout the day of new patients, community events, promotions, supporting staff, and office closings or delays due to the weather. They also run a monthly contest. Their March contest is to guess the number of coins without going over and one lucky winner will receive a TCBY gift card. Their contest changes monthly, keeping their patient's attention and a continued following on Facebook & Twitter.
Another clever marketing idea is the car magnet contest. They promote this by providing their patients with a car magnet, encouraging them to put it on their car. Each office Team member is constantly on the lookout for the magnets. If a member of the team spots a car with the magnet on it, they will stick a flyer under the windshield wiper. The flyer instructs the patients to call the office to have their name entered for a monthly prize give-away which is $50 gift certificate to Lorenzo's Pizzeria. Patients in orthodontic treatment participate in an awards program are able to earn points to cash in on games, gift cards and more. Points can be earned by participating in their contests, wearing your Braces by Bird t-shirt to your appointment, nothing lose or broken, good oral hygiene and referring a friend.

Branding:
Birds Pediatric Dentistry & Braces by Bird are creating band awareness all while promoting their offices with contests, pictures and community outreach. You will find each of their two logos to be bright and dynamic with a fun playful look. Their office décor accentuates their brand and promotes patients to have a positive emotional experience the moment they walked into each office. They have an Orange Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara featuring the Braces by Bird logo allowing their marketing campaign to be mobile.
When choosing your brand identity, remember that your "brand" is the first thing that comes to mind when people think of you. It is your reputation, your personality and your presence. Putting in a little extra effort and thinking outside the box will set you apart from the rest of your competition. Branding is everything, and everything counts.
Charity:
Getting involved in your local community is one of the best ways to get your brand out there. Braces by Bird and Bird Pediatric Dentistry have mastered this. They support local schools, community organizations and sports teams. They donate calendar magnets to families at 18 different local schools with each schools schedule printed on them. This helps families stay on top of school breaks and holidays. Every February for National Dental Health and every October for National Orthodontic health months, they volunteer their time to go into schools to do interactive presentations. Each student receives a new toothbrushes, timer and tips for improving their oral health. They also provide draw string bags to the 6th grade classes at several middle schools giving the children something to carry their orientation items home in.
Each year both practices team up to do a large sponsorship for a local school. This year the beneficiary of the sponsorship will be to Marvin Middle and High school for a sculpture that will be featured in their roundabout. In addition to that the participate in "Race for the Cure" as a team, they office purchases 50 boxes of girl scout cookies from local girl scout troops, and give tours/ presentations to the troops so they can earn the "Real Life Tooth fairy" badge. Dr. Bird participates with Smiles Change Lives which offers free orthodontic care for low income families; Dr. Bird was also voted South Charlotte Macaroni Kids 2014 Gold Daisy Awards BEST Orthodontist. Braces by Bird is officially mom approved!
