OraBrite Gives Back, Community Service Project

OraBrite participated in the Backpacks for Kids in Care campaign, the community service project organized by St. Mary's School. The OraBrite team, along with the St. Mary's students & staff, JM Murray Center, YWCA Bridges for Kids program, and Seven Valley Health Coalition backpack committee came together to fill 150 backpacks with donated items.

Each St. Mary's student was asked to fill a backpack with clothes, books, small puzzles or games and personal care items. The backpacks are used throughout the year by the YWCA Bridges for Kids program, the Seven Valley Health Coalition Kids Care program and the Cortland County Red Cross. Christella Yonta, the Executive Director of the United Way stated "The Backpacks are utilized throughout the year and given to kids when they are placed in foster care, given to kids with mentors in the bridges for kids program and utilized by the Red Cross when they assist kids after a fire. Several kids wrote a message on their bags knowing it was going to someone their age".

St. Mary's school was looking for a community service project to participate in and reached out to the Seven Valley Health Coalition to support this program. The St. Mary's school, and the Cortland business community joined forces to not only donate items to fill the back packs but also deliver them to the organizations that distribute them to the children. OraBrite was pleased to be a part of this wonderful community outreach program. We look forward to working hand and hand with these great organizations to continue to support this need in our local community.
