OnCall: Medicine with a Mission

Spurred by the devastating impact of the earthquake in January 2010, OnCall began sending construction and medical outreach teams into the heart of Haiti to help rebuild and heal those affected. As most of the tent communities gradually disappeared, the one in Delmas 75 stayed. A permanent clinic called Clinique Sur Appel de Delmas was established to serve the tent community as well as the neighborhood surrounding the clinic.

Individuals within the local community are given access to primary care and dental services through the clinic, which is now open for medical consultation five days a week. Toothbrushes will be used as part of the outreach to children and adults for oral health. Demonstrations on proper brushing techniques, as well as how often they should brush their teeth will be explained.
